Democracy-Bangladeshi style!

Bangladesh(formerly known as East-Pakistan) is a small nation in South Asia, formed in 1971

after it was liberated from Pakistan with the help of India.

Last two decades of democracy in  Bangladesh has seen domination of political parties headed by two women Begum Khalida Zia and Sheikh Hasina Wajed either ruling or sitting in oposition.

However, situation of both is in jeopardy as Sheikh Hasina Wajed is accused in a murder case and Begum Khalida Zia in a virtual house arrest.As elections not slated for atleast next 18 months, democracy in Bangladesh is evenly poised.

AIDS: Is Pakistan fighting a taboo or AIDS?

A recent Pakistani delegation of sex workers visited India to understand sexually transmitted diseases,,safe sex practises,brothel management and anti-AIDS programme.

Pakistan, a muslim conservative state were adultery is a crime, has approximate 4000 reported cases of AIDS though WHO believes it could be more than 80,000.

If AIDS is a reality carrying social stigma, would it not be much easier for people of Pakistan to abstain from fornication,adultery and be careful while blood transfusion?

Lalu wants India Pak united

Lalu Prasad Yadav, uninon minister for railways has called for unification of India and in a recent convention of All India Peace and Solidarity (AIPSO).Lalu argued if east and wes Germany can unite, why not India.

 Lalu also lamblasted United States for acting unilateraly against Iraq and further hanging of Saddam Hussain on a day of Eid ul Alzha. He also urged for a independent Indian foreign policy.
